ABOUT UK MEETS NL

The UK meets NL network was set up by English Services with the aim of promoting trade links between the United Kingdom and the Netherlands through, among other things, virtual and face-to-face networking in conjunction with Ozone Conferencing.

PAST EVENTS

Rotterdam, 15 & 16 October 2009

On 15 October UK meets NL was represented at the "Doing business in the UK" event held in Rotterdam organised by the Chamber of Commerce and the Netherlands Embassy in London and at the "Successful Business Opportunities in the UK" seminar held in Utrecht organised by Rabobank International.

On 16 October the main focus was on opportunities in the construction industry, business development strategies and business essentials like IT and networking. Highlights included presentations by Mike Holland, Max Wieliczko, Adrian Riggs, Pete Bennett, Annette Broring and Vincent Smit.

London, 24 & 25 June 2009

The highlights of this UK meets NL event included afternoon tea at the Cavendish on Wednesday 24 June: a great opportunity to meet top executives from Dutch and UK businesses as well as representatives from national and international institutions; followed by a number of presentations and an evening of business networking at city solicitors Maxwell Winward LLP in Ludgate Hill.

On Thursday 25 June delegates were invited to join a workshop by business coach Adrian Riggs on �how to win that big contract� at The Courtfield Pub on Earls Court Road. After the workshop everyone was given the opportunity to present their company, products and services to an international audience.

London, 25 & 26 March 2009

A selection of top executives from a wide range of leading Dutch and British businesses arrived at Maxwell Winward�s Ludgate Hill offices on Wednesday 25 March to attend the second UK meets NL meeting. All eyes were on James Saft, Reuters columnist and specialist in global economic and financial affairs, during his keynote speech, Forever Blowing Bubbles. After Saft�s insights into the current economic crisis, its causes and its outcomes as well as official introductions to UK meets NL, delegates had the rest of the evening to network, get to know one another, and forge new international alliances.

The two-part event continued on Thursday 26^th March at the Greyhound Pub in Kensington Square where delegates had the opportunity to present their companies, products and services to an international audience. One of the highlights was a shoe fitting workshop from Dutch entrepreneur and master shoemaker Mauritz C. Vlot of Berlioz cr�ateur de chaussure.

London, 12 & 13 November 2008

A delegation of business leaders from the Netherlands arrived in London on 12 November 2008 for a two-day visit.

Initiated by English Services (Communications) BV., the Ozone Business Network and Flevum Forum Netwerk, the largest independent networking organization in the Netherlands, the visit started with an event hosted by City solicitors Maxwell Winward on Wednesday 12 November followed by various presentations at the Greyhound Pub in Kensington Square and a tour of the Institute of Directors, Pall Mall the following day.
